City Closes Purchase Of Old Douglas County Jail Property

Mayor Rochelle Robinson along with Douglas County Commission Chair Dr. Romona Jackson Jones signed documents, at the County Courthouse, on July 30th officially transferring ownership of the Old Jail property at 6840 Church Street in downtown Douglasville. The property was purchased by the city for $850,000.

The city plans to turn the site into a multi-use development that will include mixed-use buildings and public green space with a focus on a multi-purpose amphitheater for community events.
