Mayor Pro Tem Richard S. Segal has been accepted into the 2018 Georgia Academy for Economic Development for Region 3.
The program is designed to enhance community leaders’ skills and knowledge to help communities in Georgia to become, or remain successful.
The 2018 Georgia Academy for Economic Development for Region 3 is supported by over 20 statewide organizations, with facilitators, coordinators and program management provided by Georgia EMC, Georgia Power, and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
Back in January of this year, Mayor Pro Tem Segal also earned the Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) certification from the National Development Council. This certification helped him build the ability to translate development opportunities into results, among other skills that will contribute enormously toward the ongoing development within the City of Douglasville.
Mayor Pro Tem Segal, along with the rest of the City Council, have shown their commitment to training efforts like these to enable each of them to impact the Douglasville community in an educated, sustainable way. The Douglas County Development Authority recognized the Mayor Pro Tem’s commitment to the Douglasville community by generously covering the tuition cost for this training effort.
