Temporary Railroad Crossing Closures In Douglasville

Beginning on Thursday January 24th, Road Safe Traffic Systems will be conducting maintenance on railroad crossings in portions of Cobb and Douglas Counties on behalf of Norfolk Southern Corporation. These closings will begin in the Austell area and move west through Douglas County and the City of Douglasville. There will be one closing per day beginning on the January 24th date. Be sure to note that no closure will begin before 8:45 am EST. The list of crossing closures are as follows (in sequential order):


•    Municipal Parkway

•    McIntosh Road

•    Dallas Highway (SR 92)

•    McCarley Street

•    Rose Avenue

•    Cedar Mountain Road

•    W. Strickland Street (crossing located in front of 12901 Veteran’s Memorial Hwy / 7551 W. Strickland Street)


There will be more updates to come of what dates the crossings will be closed. It is important to note that these closures are weather dependent. If it rains on one day, the closure will likely not occur.
