The City of Douglasville is actively pursuing a "Green" initiative to lower our energy footprint. Community and Development Services Director, Jonathan Lynn reports that in the first three quarters of 2016, the City has saved roughly $640 in electricity costs alone compared to the same period in 2015 by installing LED lamps in emergency exit signage, and motion sensors in some rooms. Also, cards have been placed on most light switches urging employees to "turn out the lights" when not in use.
