City Council Approves Employee Sick Leave Incentive Program

Because City of Douglasville employees are taking less sick time, they're maintaining higher sick leave balances.

Those higher balances allow the HR department to offer employees an incentive program to receive extra pay for up to 3 days per year of excess sick time.

In large part, all those good things come as a result of the Be fit with D-fit wellness program implemented in 2016. City employees are healthier than ever, and when they are well and in good health, they are less likely to request sick leave. That results in higher productivity for city employees.

City Council approved the change to the Personnel Policies and Procedures manual to allow for sick leave incentive at their July 17th meeting and it will take effect in November of this year.
