New Picnic Pavilion Ribbon Cutting At Hunter Park

HP Pavilion ribbon cut

The beautiful new picnic pavilion opened with a ribbon cutting at Hunter Park on Monday November 27th.

The pavilion is a joint effort of the City and the Douglasville Masonic Lodge #289.

The structure replaces one that was damaged by the flood of 2009, and the Douglasville Lodge contributed almost 23% of the pavilion construction price.

Parks & Recreation Committee Chairman Councilman Chris Watts told the crowd, "Our goal is to improve the amenities of the City, with Parks & Recreation being a key part of that. This pavilion is a beautiful structure, and I'd say it was money well spent."

Douglasville Parks & Recreation Director Travis Landrum said, "the construction of this pavilion will benefit everyone by providing the residents and visitors to Hunter Memorial Park an additional amenity to further enjoy their time here."

The new pavilion is available to host a variety of small, intimate functions such as birthday parties, family gatherings, social events and more.
