Mayor Robinson Presents Key to the City

At a recent City Council meeting, Mayor Rochelle Robinson presented a key to the city to the family and friends of the recently deceased former councilman Jackson Harding ‘Nick’ Banks.

Mr. Banks was a lifelong resident of Douglasville, graduating from Douglas County High in 1958. Mr. Banks served on the City Council from 1966 to 1970 and took over as the City Clerk that same year. In 1976, Mr. Banks became the Douglasville City Manager, holding the position until 1992. Mr. Banks finished his career in 1995, when he retired as the City Comptroller.

Nick Banks finished his career in service to the City of Douglasville serving as the Vice Chairman of the Douglasville Downtown Authority in 1996. Nick garnered respect and admiration to all who knew him and was a fierce advocate for the Douglasville community.
