Mayor Robinson Becomes Teacher 4 A Day
The Douglas County Chamber in cooperation with the Douglas County School System held their annual Teacher 4 A Day event at multiple schools recently.
Mayor Rochelle Robinson was at Douglas County High School to drop in on students in two different classes. Mrs. Burross' Early Childhood Education - Level II students were doing a unit on nutrition, so Mayor Robinson assisted them in crafting construction paper "pizzas" that contained certain amounts of nutritional elements. She also visited Ms. Burnett's IB English Literature class to help the students review for a test on "Beloved" by Nobel Prize winning Author Toni Morrison. Thank you to the Chamber, DCHS Principal Andre Weaver and the Douglas County School System for allowing Mayor Robinson to "walk a mile" in teachers shoes!
