Lending Libraries Are Open In Downtown Douglasville
In partnership with the Downtown Development Authority, Douglas County Library, the Convention and Visitor's Bureau, and the Cultural Arts Council (CAC), Main Street Douglasville held a ribbon cutting for its new Lending Libraries Program in Downtown Douglasville on what would have been Dr. Seuss' 115th birthday. The Cat in the Hat showed up for the celebration and 88 kids from various Day Care Centers around Douglasville helped sing Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss. Councilman Terry Miller read "Oh The Places You'll Go" to the kids, and a ribbon was cut to officially open the Lending Libraries. The libraries are located in "the gap" at 6661 Church Street between Veteran's Memorial Highway and Church Street.
