Douglasville Parks Manager Recognized by National Parks Association
At the recent National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) conference in Baltimore, MD, Mr. Chris Bass received the Ira Hutchinson Young Professional Award from the National Recreation and Parks Ethnic Minority Society (NRPEMS).
“To be acknowledged among so many great parks and rec professionals is not only humbling, but it motivates me to continue to grow as a person and as a professional,” Bass said of the award.
Mr. Bass currently serves as the Parks Manager in the Douglasville Parks and Recreation Department. Aside from overseeing the programming that the department hosts, he also oversees the parks’ accreditation process.
“Chris has brought a wealth of knowledge in both programming and CAPRA accreditation from his experience with a different Georgia community,” Parks and Recreation Director, Travis Landrum, explained. “He’s been a tremendous asset to our department and to the community. This honor is definitely well-deserved.”
