City of Douglasville Shares Final Plans for Conference Center Refresh

At the May 29^th City Council meeting, the City of Douglasville presented final plans for the highly anticipated refresh of the Douglasville Conference Center. This transformative interior project will begin Monday, June 2, 2025, with completion scheduled for the end of December 2025.

With a project budget of $2,839,172, the refresh will modernize the interior of the facility while preserving the building’s core structure. The enhancements will position the Conference Center to better serve residents, visitors, and event partners well into the future.

What’s Included in the Refresh

• The interior upgrades will span several key areas of the Conference Center, including:
• • Three (3) Meeting Rooms
  • Auditorium
  • Boardroom
  • Ballroom
  • Lobby
  • Pre-function spaces
  • Public Restrooms
  • Bridal Suites

The refresh will focus on visual and functional updates such as paint, wallpaper, new fixtures, flooring, and updated furniture. The exterior, service corridor, and kitchen are not included in the scope of work. The overall structure of the building will remain unchanged, as the project centers on enhancing the guest experience and aesthetics.

What’s Next

Construction mobilization will begin in early June, with work continuing through the end of the year. During this time, City Council meetings will continue to be held at the Community Center at Jessie Davis Park to accommodate the renovation schedule.
