It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Congressman David Scott, a dedicated public servant who faithfully represented the people of Douglasville and communities across Georgia for many years.
Congressman Scott’s commitment to public service was evident in his tireless advocacy for working families, economic development, and access to opportunity. His leadership in Congress helped bring resources and attention to the needs of our region, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.
Here in Douglasville, we are especially grateful for his service and his willingness to support our city’s growth and progress. He understood the importance of strong local communities and worked to ensure that cities like ours had a voice at the federal level.
"Congressman David Scott was more than a representative to us, he was a partner in progress for the City of Douglasville," said Mayor Rochelle Robinson. "His commitment to uplifting communities like ours and advocating for opportunity and equity made a lasting difference. He will be remembered not only for his leadership, but for the care and compassion he showed to the people he served."
On behalf of the City of Douglasville, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Congressman Scott’s family, friends, colleagues, and all those who were touched by his life and legacy. We join the many who mourn his loss while honoring the lasting contributions he made to our state and nation.
His legacy of service, perseverance, and dedication to the public good will not be forgotten.
