Douglasville Recycling Center Is Open!
Published on October 30, 2025
The City of Douglasville opened its new Recycling Center on Saturday, November 1, 2025, providing residents with a convenient, year-round location to drop off recyclable materials and divert waste from landfills.
Located at 8145A Cedar Mountain Rd, Douglasville, GA 30134, the center is open Tuesdays-Fridays, 8:30 am-5:00 pm, and Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 3 PM (starting 12/6). The Recycling Center will be operated by the City of Douglasville and supported by Keep Douglasville Beautiful.
Beginning opening day, Douglasville residents can bring the following items:
- Cardboard & Mixed paper (Flatten boxes; include office paper, newspapers, and mail. Keep everything dry).
- Aluminum cans (Rinse and keep loose. No foil or scrap metal.)
- #1 and #2 consumer plastic containers (Bottles, jugs, and tubs labeled #1 or #2. Remove lids.)
- Glass bottles and jars (Lids off. No ceramics or window glass.)
“This center is a practical, long-term investment in our community’s quality of life,” said Mayor Rochelle Robinson. “We are extremely proud to bring this environmentally friendly service online for our community after having to cease curbside recycling services during the pandemic, keeping Douglasville Beautiful today and for future generations."
The facility features clearly labeled collection bays, drive-through lanes, on-site attendants, and educational signage to help residents sort materials correctly and reduce contamination. The center is a drop-off facility open to all—residents and non-residents—that offers comprehensive recycling services, education programs, and community engagement to promote environmental stewardship and reduce landfill waste.
“We built this center with our neighbors in mind,” said Public Services Director Melissa Burdette. “It’s about making it easier for families to do their part and helping us all take pride in a cleaner, greener Douglasville.”
