Project Overview
The City of Douglasville Street Resurfacing Program provides pavement improvements on City-maintained streets throughout the community. The program is intended to preserve local roads, improve driving conditions, and extend the useful life of the City's transportation infrastructure.
Annual resurfacing projects may use a combination of the Georgia Department of Transportation Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG), Local Road Assistance (LRA) funding and proceeds from the voter-approved 2022 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). Streets are selected based on pavement condition ratings, available funding and the scope of each annual resurfacing program.

During construction, residents and motorists may encounter temporary lane closures, traffic delays, construction equipment, noise, and short-term driveway access changes. Access will generally be maintained, but motorists should use caution and follow posted traffic-control directions near active work areas.
Annual Resurfacing Programs
2027 LMIG Street Resurfacing Program
Status: Planning
The City has been notified of available 2027 LMIG funding and is preparing street recommendations. The application period is expected to continue through February 2027. A street list will be added after recommendations and funding are finalized.
2026 LMIG Street Resurfacing Program
Status: Procurement
The City is finalizing bid documents for the 2026 resurfacing program. The approved program budget is $4,137,474 and includes 2022 SPLOST Transportation, 2026 LMIG and 2026 Local Road Assistance funding. The street list and construction information will be added when available.
2025 LMIG Street Resurfacing Program
Status: Under Construction
The 2025 program includes resurfacing 40 streets totaling approximately 10.8 miles. The work supports maintenance of the City's local road network and helps improve pavement conditions on City-maintained streets.
The program combines 2022 SPLOST Transportation, 2025 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG), and Local Road Assistance funding. The approved contractor is CW Matthews.
