Project Overview

The City of Douglasville Street Resurfacing Program provides pavement improvements on City-maintained streets throughout the community. The program is intended to preserve local roads, improve driving conditions, and extend the useful life of the City's transportation infrastructure.

Annual resurfacing projects may use a combination of the Georgia Department of Transportation Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG), Local Road Assistance (LRA) funding and proceeds from the voter-approved 2022 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). Streets are selected based on pavement condition ratings, available funding and the scope of each annual resurfacing program.

Looking for the pavement condition rating of your street? The City's October 2026 pavement assessment includes ratings for City-maintained streets. Ratings help guide maintenance and resurfacing recommendations but do not establish when a street will be resurfaced.

During construction, residents and motorists may encounter temporary lane closures, traffic delays, construction equipment, noise, and short-term driveway access changes. Access will generally be maintained, but motorists should use caution and follow posted traffic-control directions near active work areas.

Annual Resurfacing Programs

2027 LMIG Street Resurfacing Program

Status: Planning

The City is preparing recommendations for the 2027 program. Funding from the voter-approved 2022 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) is committed, and the City is pursuing additional funding through the 2027 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) program. Street recommendations will be shared after they are finalized for public release.

2026 LMIG Street Resurfacing Program

Status: Procurement

The proposed 2026 program includes 40 street segments and the Hunter Park Innovation Lab parking lot. Bid documents are being finalized. This program is expected to follow completion of 2025 resurfacing work. The street list and construction limits are subject to procurement and scheduling.

The 2025 Pavement Condition Index (PCI) ratings shown below range from 0 to 100. Lower ratings indicate greater pavement deterioration. PCI is one of several factors used in developing resurfacing recommendations.
