The Main Street Program

Downtown Douglasville is a vibrant, walkable district where small businesses, local culture, and community life come together. For more than two decades, downtown has served as the heart of the city’s economic and social activity—supporting entrepreneurs, hosting community events, and creating a place where residents and visitors can gather, shop, dine, and connect.

At the center of this work is Main Street Douglasville, which is deeply committed to the long-term growth and success of our community’s small businesses. For more than 23 years, our efforts have focused on one core mission: attracting, supporting, and retaining businesses as the backbone of downtown revitalization.

Main Street Douglasville proudly offers a wide range of services designed to help small business owners thrive. Downtown businesses are encouraged to actively engage with the program by becoming Downtown Participants—often referred to as “members” of Main Street Douglasville. Participation opens the door to meaningful opportunities, resources, and partnerships that strengthen both individual businesses and the downtown district as a whole.

Main Street Douglasville is here to serve YOU

Downtown.jpgOur program exists to support the continued revitalization of downtown by providing hands-on assistance, strategic programming, and collaborative opportunities for both business owners and property owners. All downtown businesses are warmly invited to take full advantage of everything Main Street Douglasville has to offer.

Join the Fun: Discover Unique Finds and Local Flavor at Main Street Market! This event is Saturday, March 21 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Worthan Park on Parker Street in Downtown Douglasville. Vendors may apply to be a part of this event through February 28, at 11:59 PM.

Downtown and Tributary Entertainment Districts

Douglasville is also home to the Downtown and Tributary Entertainment Districts,  designated areas created to encourage activity, increase foot traffic, and further support local businesses through a welcoming and flexible public environment.

The Entertainment Districts operate daily from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and do not require a permit for participation. During these hours, patrons may purchase an alcoholic beverage from a participating establishment and carry it within the district boundaries, provided the beverage is:

  • Served in a transparent, plastic cup
  • No larger than 16 ounces
  • Limited to one beverage per person

The Entertainment Districts are designed to enhance the downtown and Tributary experience by promoting walkability, supporting local businesses, and creating a lively, social atmosphere—while maintaining clear, responsible guidelines.

Together, Main Street Douglasville, the Downtown and Tributary Entertainment Districts reflect a forward-thinking, people-centered approach to economic development—one that reduces barriers, strengthens local businesses, and reinforces Douglasville as a vibrant place to live, work, and gather.
